Review by Keiren S:

I found the debut novel by T.A. Shelano to be an attention grabbing voyage into flexible truth, where the good/bad dichotomy is not always as it would seem. However, do not be deceived into thinking this is a slow burning cold war spy novel. ‘The Doctor’s Hidden Patients’ is an action packed rollercoaster of content. Balancing pace with narrative, Shelano is able to hook your attention and suspend you on the edge of your seat, summon catharsis with punchy pop culture references, and throw you out of a moving vehicle and have you thank him for the privilege. Whilst the initial rhythm of the novel is exponential, new readers are warned to buckle in and keep up or bow out.

Shelano tells the story with compelling authenticity. The nuanced knowledge of locations and various subject matter show a keen attention to detail without making the reader feel overwhelmed.

I hope that Shelano continues writing and treats us to further novels in the future. One to watch.
